The Gesher 7th grade program provides a bridge (gesher) between childhood and young adult Jewish education as the students experience the B’nai Mitzvah year.  Meeting for two hours on Sunday evenings the program will expose the students to a more nuanced vision of the Modern state of Israel, give them the background and details of the tragedy of the holocaust and provide opportunities for peer interactions through both educational and special social programming during class time.

Upper School - Grades 8 & 9

Next Dor Shabbaton 2013Our Upper School Judaic curriculum is designed with the special needs and interests of our teens in mind. The 8th-9th grade classes give our students the opportunity to learn and discuss traditional Jewish values and how they apply in the world today.

For the second part of each week, elective courses on a topics of special interest are offered to our teens.

Confirmation Class - Grade 10
Copy of Confirmation 2013For many of our older teens this year is the best. For 45 minutes each week, the students meet with the rabbi and discuss a wide variety of very interesting topics.

For the second part of each week, elective courses on topics of special interest are offered to our teens.

This is a year of growth and learning that culminates in a beautiful Shavuot service during which some of our Confirmands share thoughts about how the class transformed their life and appreciation of Judaism.

Dor v’Dor (Generation to Generation) - Grades 11 & 12
In a warm and safe environment, students are encouraged to explore their Jewish identity and appreciate the impact they can have on their relationships, community and world. Jewish text, biblical stories, contemporary movies/songs and discussions serve as the medium whereby our teens learn. This program gets rave reviews from our students.
