Part-time Communications Administrator

This position is responsible for overseeing official communication both internally to congregants and externally to the larger community. Working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to create and disseminate information on programs, services, classes, and special events.

This position requires excellent communications, graphic arts, computer, website management, and writing and organization skills. The ability to work well with the TI staff and volunteer groups and make sound judgements and prioritize work assignments are all critical in this role.

The position will require 1 day per week on site and then can be done from home. It will be a 15 – 20 hr. position per week. Salary range is $20,000 – 25,000 per year.


Promotion of Activities, Services, Programs and Events

  • Attend weekly staff meetings and all calendar meetings
  • Coordinate with Clergy, Education Directors, Temple Administrator and volunteers to update an ever-changing calendar of services, classes, programs and events
  • Solicit information and images from others when needed and help develop engaging descriptions and images for each calendar item
  • Input calendar items/descriptions/images on website calendar, weekly email, digital message screens and the Prophet.
  • Prepare and manage distribution of weekly email and Prophet and publish them to the website
  • Keep the website and digital message boards and printed flyer boards up to date and attractive
  • Create or help create flyers, posters, brochures and other printed matter to promote and support activities


Website, Social Media, Community Publicity

  • Update Website, Blogs and other social media with current and attractive content
  • Create/manage a library of visual images – photos & videos for use in promotion of events
  • Generate content and implement strategies for the growth of the social media presence
  • Broaden PR using external calendars, websites and other media where appropriate
