Shabbat

The meaning of the Sabbath is to celebrate time rather than space. Six days a week we live under the tyranny of things of space; on the Sabbath we try to become attuned to holiness in time. It is a day on which we are called upon to share in what is eternal in time, to turn from the results of creation to the mystery of creation.
– Abraham Joshua Heschel

Friday Night Services

Friday night services are held at 8pm (except for Fourth Fridays — see below) each week. We invite you to join us as we welcome in Shabbat with prayer and song, joy and reflection. Services include the reading of Torah and are followed by a festive oneg (dessert reception).

Fourth Fridays

Services on the fourth Friday of each month begin at 7pm and are especially appropriate for families with young children (though everyone is welcome to attend and young families should feel free to join us any Friday). The Torah service and sermon are replaced with a story.

Saturday Mornings

Shabbat services are held on Saturday mornings at 10am whenever we are celebrating a Bar, Bat, or Brit Mitzvah. When there are no B’nai Mitzvah, an informal  minyan will take place around 10:15am in the Chapel, following Torah Study. Please check the calendar to see when services will be taking place. The whole congregation is invited to celebrate Shabbat with our B’nai Mitzvah.

Shabbat & Schmooze

Taking place on occasional Saturdays throughout the year, Shabbat & Schmooze is open to all and is free of charge.
