If you had the opportunity to speak directly with a county or state elected official, what would you want to say? What issues would your friends, family, or neighbors want to raise?
What if we told you that you can be part of shaping the issues that matter most to our community? As a Howard County synagogue, Temple Isaiah is proud to be part of the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), a committee of the Jewish Federation. The JCRC is a member of People Acting Together in Howard (PATH) — a non-partisan, multi-faith, and multi-racial organization committed to improving life in our county and state.
This fall, PATH (with all its member congregations) is launching a listening campaign to hear from people across Howard County. The listening campaign will also include two similar multi-faith, multi-racial organizations in Montgomery County (AIM) and Anne Arundel County (ACT). What we learn in the listening campaign will guide the advocacy agenda for Temple Isaiah and the JCRC, and the legislative agenda for PATH, AIM, and ACT (together as the Maryland Just Power Alliance) in our counties and in the state of Maryland.
What concerns are affecting you and your community? What changes would make a meaningful difference in your life?
Tzedek Isaiah is organizing small Listening Sessions so that our members can come together, share personal stories, and identify shared priorities (similar activities will take place across the larger Jewish community).
